Welcome to my professional portfolio. This website contains links to my teaching philosophy, résumé, materials I have created for use in my Spanish classes, and other information. Each page also includes a brief description of each item, including how the item demonstrates my ability to meet the InTASC Core Teaching Standards.
I am currently a real estate agent. I taught Spanish at Esperero Canyon Middle School at Catalina Foothills School District in Tucson, Arizona. I graduated from the Teach Arizona Master of Education program at University of Arizona in 2013 and I completed my student teaching at Orange Grove Middle School in the same year.
I am a native Spanish speaker. I am originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. I completed my undergraduate studies in teaching English as a Foreign Language at Oaxaca State University in May 2006. In Mexico, I taught English to kindergarten aged students for two years. In England, I taught Spanish to middle school aged students for one year.
I am known as a dynamic and creative teacher. I make my class different every day. I adapt games and authentic materials to motivate students. I don’t hesitate to act, disguise, draw, sing, and dance to keep students attention and motivation. I create positive learning environment based on the respect to student’s culture. I am responsible and punctual, essential characteristics to cover all the curriculum objectives.
My exposure to Mexican, British, and American culture has also enhanced my ability to adapt to different places, situations and understand students from different backgrounds.
